First stage of Prelude FLNG project finished

nCentric is contracted by TechnipFMC through our partner Ashtead Technology, to deliver wireless mesh communication technology for the major Prelude FLNG project. Prelude FLNG is the biggest Floating liquefied Natural Gas Platform ever build, ordered by Royal Dutch Shell. Prelude is a 488 metre long floating facility extracting and liquefying gas at sea, before it's shipped to shore. The vessel is built by Technip / Samsung Consortium (TSC) in South Korea and is completed at the end of June 2017.

Towing out the massive Prelude from the docs to Australia is a precision job. Therefore, Technip used not less than 22 nCentric units, connected to each other through mesh technology, for grabbing absolute control of the vessel movements. Probably, this is also the biggest mesh network ever set up offshore.

The tow out stage is now done and prelude arrived at Australia. In the next months nCentric equipment will stay at the scene to help with the hook up.
